Part 5: Performance - Top four reasons to Upgrade your Vacuum to BaseVac Dental

The mechanical room of a Dental Practice is the heart and lungs of the whole clinic. Without a strong and reliable system in place, Dental Practice will cease to function. When choosing the heart (vacuum), its best to go with something powerful; a powerful heart will ensure the longevity of a clinic. For this reason, BaseVac has designed our vacuums to run at the highest possible vacuum, 25” of hg.

Horsepower to horsepower, there is no other vacuum in the Dental Industry that creates the same about of suction as a BaseVac system. We choose to only provide dry-vacuum systems, as they are the way of the future and can outperform antiquated wet-ring vacuum technology.

Our Secret Sauce

How does BaseVac generate such displays of power and require so little maintenance? The secret is in our direct-drive oil-free rotary vane vacuum design.

Rotary vane pumps consist of a cylindrical housing; (1), eccentrically positioned rotor, (2), and numerous free-moving vanes, (3). The vanes are placed in the slots of the rotor, (4) as the rotor turns, the centrifugal force throws the vanes against the cylindrical wall, creating a chamber between the rotor and the cylinder, (7). The chamber volume changes as the rotor turns. From the inlet port, (5), the chamber volume enlarges, and then decreases towards the outlet port, (6). As air enters the inlet port, (5) and the chamber enlarges, (7), the vanes create a vacuum. As the air is pushed through the chamber and it becomes compressed, pressure is produced at the outlet port (6).

The rotary vane vacuum pump is designed to continue sucking air up to 25” of hg in suction pressure. That’s up to five times more powerful than the average dry-vacuum system. BaseVac’s systems quietly evacuate the pipe system beyond your required working vacuum, think about it functioning as a reverse compressor.  The stored volume of vacuum is kept in the empty cavities of your air/water separator and suction lines. This stored energy is what provides members of the BaseVac family the instant vacuum they have become a customed to over the years. Most Dental Professional who have been switched from a BaseVac to another system come back to us, as they get used to the instant power associated with our systems, it makes a noticeable difference when practicing dentistry.

The Benefits of Power

BaseVac’s power allows a level of flexibility, allowing our systems to be used a plethora of different Dental applications and dental clinic layouts. For difficult or unique installations, the vacuum generated by our BaseVac systems makes it the first choice for custom clinics.
